Maize (Hollow Knight Fan Character)

Introducing Maize!
Like many others vessels, Maize was fortunate enough to escape the Abyss where soon after they made their way to the City of Tears. There they spent most of their time hiding in alleyways, the water canals and overall just staying out of sight. Which isn’t easy in the middle of a city!

It was only when the infection appeared in the city that they started adventuring out into the open when the streets started to lose all the bugs that once filled them with life.

I’m thinking at some point after this they met Trie (my other Hollow Knight OC) and started adventuring with her across the kingdom.

Unlike Ghost/ the Knight, they feel no need or urge to go and try to replace the Hollow Knight.
They emote quite often which is a feature that stopped them from potentially being chosen as the Pure Vessel since they made it pretty obvious that they lacked the emptiness that was needed to seal away the Radiance.
