Angelos (Angel) Character Design
Angelos (or Angel for short) is a homunculus created by Rafe, a mad scientist character of mine. He created Angel to help him with tasks related to his work in finding a cure for his curse, and also for a sense of companionship. Because living as a mad scientist on the run can be a lonely existence.
Homunculus in my world, Old But New, are creatures that are artificially created through the use of science and magic.
Angel starts off as a quiet character in my story, first unaware of how truly cruel Rafe is in his experiments because they have never known anything in the life outside of Rafe's influence. As the story progresses, however, Angel will come to meet more characters that help show Angel what is right and what is wrong. And Angel will slowly become more vocal, disapproving of Rafe's actions, much to his displeasure.
Expression sheet for the Angel. I noticed their face design is a little different to how I drew them for their character sheet. These were drawn after the sheet so it was a case of I got more comfortable with the character's face the more I drew them.
Early on I knew I wanted Angel's design to be a hybrid of animalistic and humanoid features.
On a separate sheet I took the stuff I liked from the previous designs and played around with them. Through messier sketches I found the design I was looking for.

Probably wasn't needed but I wanted to get a good idea on how they would walk and hold their wings before I went onto making their final design sheet.
